Staying the Course
I usually can manage to deal with what life throws at me. But it's much harder to be a rock when my children experience adversity or disappointment. As someone much wiser than me said, "You're only as happy as your least happy child." It's been a bit of a tough week.

Last year when I was worried about one of my kids I asked my then 82 year old mother when I could stop worrying about the girls and let them deal with life. She told me that she was hoping that happened when you turned 83! Sorry, sweetie. XXOO Katy
I have been there and done that too, and even now am sitting here wondering what is to be done to help my own, who each in their own way is having a really hard time.
My own grandmother said words very similar to Katy's several decades ago.
