Does anyone know how I can upload a music file to my blog? Consider that I am a luddite to this and respond accordingly.

I haven't been able to figure out a way to do this, either. Wordpress has a feature that allows it, but it costs something, and I'm a cheapskate.
I'm sorry you had to talk with one of those amoral insurance company grubs.You begin to wonder how they manage to find enough assholes, of the relentless, adamant variety, to staff their business.
My wife reminds me to contemplate my former colleagues.
